The brief

The VIVE’s Brand Story

After 12 years of expanding church locations worldwide, VIVE needed to establish a bold and innovative online presence that truly reflected the essence of their strong voice in leading families through excellent ministries.

They also sought to develop an easy-to-manage content management system (CMS) that would empower staff to efficiently keep content fresh and readily available.

The Role & Timeline

My team at Hueydesigns and I were engaged to lead the complete redesign of VIVE’s website, including developing the new information architecture and building the CMS from the ground up using Webflow.

The Solution

Our Design Approach

Our challenge was to design a website experience that not only supports VIVE's expanding global locations and existing community but also attracts new visitors who are searching for a dynamic and forward-thinking church.

The redesign needed to embody VIVE’s bold and innovative spirit while fulfilling several key objectives:

+ Showcase VIVE as a vibrant, passionate church constantly pushing boundaries.

+ Provide resources and information for current members, including updates on events, ministries, and life groups.

+ Share the VIVE story in a compelling way to engage new visitors.

+ Keep content fresh and communicate updates effectively.

+ Focus on a mobile-first design based on analytics.

The Design Process

PHASE 1 — Discovery: I conducted stakeholder interviews to align objectives across executives and team leads. An in-depth analysis of the existing sitemap helped us map user flows, identify gaps, and uncover opportunities for improvement.

PHASE 2 — Define: The design strategy focused on reimagining the navigation structure to create a seamless experience for both new visitors and members. The goal was to provide easy access to locations, events, and programs across the existing 11 locations, with scalability for future growth.

PHASE 3 — Design: Over a 3-month period, my team and I developed wireframes and mockups in Figma. We maintained a steady weekly collaboration with the VIVE team to ensure smooth progress and alignment throughout the project.

PHASE 4 — Develop: Our developers spent the final months building the pages and CMS in Webflow. We also conducted multiple review cycles with the VIVE team and local testers to ensure everything functioned properly and the CMS met usability expectations.

The Results:

Wins for New Visitors

The new website redesign helps new visitors easily:

+ Find VIVE locations nearby

+ Connect visitors’ heart with VIVE’s mission at the first encounter.

Wins for Existing  Members

New website design transforms the experience for returning visitors by:

+ Making it easy to access and sign up for ministries, events, & groups tailored to their locations.

+ Give and participate seamlessly in outreach programs.
